My name is Jamie and I am part of the Central Florida Team. My journey is a bit different than most of yours (I’m assuming).
I joined the US Navy when I was 18 years old in June 1997. I left home just 12 days after I graduated high school. 20 years later, June 2017, I retired from the Navy. I was fortunate to be able to be stationed in San Diego, Hawaii, North Carolina and Boston. On my deployments, I was able to see Canada, Hawaii, Singapore, Dubai, and Guantanamo Bay Cuba. By far, my 2 favorite locations are Boston and Hawaii.
I am a wife and mother of 4 children, Andrew (my previous Step-son that I raised 27 years old), Hunter (in college 20 Years old), Catherine (almost high school 13 years old) and John (Kindergarten in the fall 5 years old). I also have 2 Dogs, 2 Lizards and a bunny (newly acquired to our home). I have been married for 6 years to a wonderful man and father (Chris). As I was starting to complete my last tour in Boston, I enrolled in college and obtained my Bachelors Degree in HealthCare Administration in March 2019.
When I am not working, I have a small business (Sew Beachy Girls) that my mom and I own for Quilting and Embroidery. I love to make quilts, placemats, throw pillows, Table Runners, baskets and anything else that you can think of for decorating your home. Our favorite family time event is to spend the weekend in Disney World. My favorite food are cannoli’s and my favorite holiday is Christmas. I just love to see the look on my children’s faces when they see the tree Christmas morning.
My last assignment in the Navy was a Medical Recruiter (Doctors, Nurses, Dentists). When I retired from the Navy, I moved back to Florida with my family. I was fortunate that the initial person that hired me was also a Navy Veteran and understood how my experience could transition to Healthcare Travel Nursing. I joined Accountable in Nov 2017, and have been a part of the team ever since. Although this was not the path I assumed my degree would take me in, I love what I do, and the people that have become dear friends.
Accountable Healthcare Staffing has given me the opportunity to merge my military medicine background and my recruiting background to form great relationships with Nurses and Techs. I place these Health Care Professionals in positions that are perfect for them, not just a spot to fill. I care about the whole person, family and career. I give real advise and we always guide people to the best possible option. Honesty and truthfulness are important to me, and that is what you will get when working with our team at Accountable Healthcare Staffing.
