DAISY Award Recipients

For second quarter 2020 Accountable Healthcare Staffing has chosen 3 DAISY Award Recipients:

Amanda Taylor, RN

Amanda was nominated by a charge nurse in the ICU where she was working. She spoke about how impressed she was with the care Amanda provided to her patients. The charge nurse specifically highlighted the care of one gentleman who had been difficult and given up on by other staff. “Amanda walked in that room and through her tireless work there was a different person in that bed when she left. Her passion for the patient, seeking out options to manage his symptoms and pushing the patient himself to mobilize honestly saved his life.”

Vanessa Schroll, RN

Vanessa was nominated by family and friends who were not able to be with the patient when they died of COVID 19. “We may never meet Vanessa. We also know she would say what all nurses would say, “I was just doing my job.” But for us, again, Vanessa was everything. She was our connection, and she did not die alone because of Vanessa and that is a comfort that goes beyond anything.”

Jackye Lyles, RN

Jackye was nominated by the Nurse Leader of the unit she was assigned to. “Jackye is always first in and last to leave. She gives her heart and soul to this department. She puts everyone before herself. She has truly helped to change the culture of this department. She leads by example.”

All three of these nurses embody the characteristics of a DAISY Nurse, they are extraordinary nurses. They have touched the lives of patients, families and colleagues. We at Accountable Healthcare Staffing are proud to have them on our team!
