In our Behind the Scenes with Accountable series, we love sharing the stories of the people who bring passion and dedication to our team. This time, we’re excited to feature Crystal Hill, a Payroll Coordinator in our Travel Payroll department.

Crystal joined Accountable in February 2021, and from the outset, she has been a steady and reliable member of our payroll team. She manages payroll and billing disputes for the travel division, supports new hires with their setup, and ensures that every detail—from direct deposits to W-4 updates—is handled with care. Her path to Accountable began when Julie, then head of travel, came across her resume and reached out. After hearing about the opportunity, Crystal knew it was the right place for her.

Before joining Accountable, Crystal built a successful career in hospitality as the Director of Sales for Hilton Hotels. She even helped open a brand-new property in Oklahoma City. Over time, she realized the long hours and demands of hotel life left little room for balance. Determined to spend more time with her kids, she transitioned to payroll work in 2019 with a trucking company. When the company closed during the pandemic, she faced her first layoff, an experience that was both challenging and clarifying. Shortly after, Julie’s call came, and Crystal knew Accountable was where she was meant to be.

Outside of work, Crystal’s life is filled with family, nature, and a touch of homestead charm. She spends much of her free time attending her kids’ baseball and football games, hiking, camping, and enjoying evenings around the fire pit. At home, she tends to her chickens, goats, cats, and dogs. Crystal also has a love for old country music, baking bread, crocheting, sewing, and canning—hobbies that reflect her appreciation for a slower and more meaningful pace of life.

Crystal’s favorite part of her role at Accountable is the sense of community she feels every day. Even while working remotely, she describes her coworkers as true teammates who make sure no one ever feels alone. That healthy, connected environment is one of the reasons she is proud to call Accountable her long-term home.
