In this edition of Behind the Scenes with Accountable, we’re proud to feature Joe Harris, Travel Recruitment Specialist, who’s been a key part of our Travel Division for nearly seven years.

Joe works closely with healthcare professionals to match them with travel assignments across the country. He’s responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and onboarding each candidate, representing them to healthcare facilities, and maintaining those relationships while they’re on contract. It’s a role that requires consistency, care, and strong communication qualities, which Joe brings to every interaction.

Before joining Accountable, Joe spent seven years with Medical Staffing Network and remained with the team throughout its acquisition by Cross Country. That experience gave him a deep understanding of healthcare staffing and prepared him to thrive in a fast-paced environment. When the opportunity to join Accountable came along, it felt like the right step and gave him the chance to continue supporting professionals in a meaningful way.

One of Joe’s favorite parts of the job is when a traveler extends their contract. For him, it’s the perfect outcome. The traveler is happy, the facility is satisfied, and everything is already in place for a smooth continuation. It’s a small moment that reflects a lot of effort behind the scenes, and Joe takes pride in helping make those moments possible.

Outside of work, Joe focuses on family and the outdoors. He’s married with two teenage kids and stays actively involved in BSA Scouting. Camping trips are a regular part of life and offer a great way to disconnect while spending quality time together. He’s also revisiting one of his favorite books, The Lord of the Rings, a story that continues to resonate with him.

For those new to travel nursing, Joe is always happy to be a resource. He understands the importance of having someone in your corner, especially when navigating new experiences. Whether it’s your first assignment or your fifth, he’s there to help make the process as smooth and supportive as possible.
