9 Reasons Why Doing A Solo Trip Will Change Your Life

Accountable Healthcare Staffing offers great travel opportunities for nurses who want to seek adventure and see our beautiful country from coast to coast. Traveling to a new location and not knowing what to expect can be scary. Arielle Calderon, from Buzzfeed, provides some great reasons to travel alone. It very well may change your life.

  1. There are no rules. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want

Nothing is better than realizing your travel schedule is completely up to YOU. Want to get up at 6 a.m.? Great. Want to sleep in till noon? Perfect.

  1. If you're open enough, you'll meet some pretty awesome strangers-turned-friends.

This is important when traveling solo! If you're open about it, you'll meet some awesome new peeps.

  1. You don't have to satisfy anyone else's needs except your own.

We should always be considerate of others, but it's also nice to only be considerate of yourself.

  1. You'll be forced to do things outside of your comfort zone.

Like meeting strangers! Or hiking! Whatever it may be, you're stronger for trying something new.

  1. You don't have to convene with people to figure out dinner plans — you just eat whatever you're in the mood for.

Ah, this is true bliss. You don't realize how long it takes to figure out dining plans until you don't have to make one. If you want to eat almonds on-the-go or enjoy a bagel at a swanky cafe, the choice is completely up to you.

  1. You can do cool excursions or activities without needing anyone else to join.

Excursions can be super expensive, and not everyone wants (or can) front the money for it. It's nice to splurge on the things you're really excited about without having to worry about anyone else.

  1. You'll likely learn something new about yourself.

It could be good, it could be bad, but regardless, it's an opportunity to get to know yourself better.

  1. You'll open yourself up to new experiences that will stay with you forever.

THIS THIS THIS. The experience can be something fun and scary like a helicopter tour, or it could be finally going to the beach in a bikini and not caring about what anyone thinks. Who knows!

  1. Traveling solo will make you more comfortable with being alone.

As long as you're open to a solo trip and have a positive attitude about it, you will likely have an amazing time. Traveling alone can be incredibly liberating, and it makes you more comfortable with being alone. When you do it once, you'll likely have the confidence to do it again. Now go forth and wander!
